Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050717 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050717 Firefox/1.0.6

If I have an https address in the history and I type some of the hostname, then
autocomplete brings it up for me but omits the schema. If I press enter or click
on one of the links in the automcomplete dropdown, then all is fine. If I cursor
back through the address or modify it in any way, then the protocol information
is lost and Firefox attempts to load the URI with http.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit an https site
2. Type some of the site's hostname into the location bar to bring up the
autocomplete dropdown
3. Cursor left through the address or modify it to point to a different page
4. Press enter to visit the site

Actual Results:
The autocompleted address changes from https to http and the site quite possibly
returns a 404

Expected Results:
The modified (or cursored-through) address should have retained its original schema
Mac bug 233229.
Bug 233229 seems to be about a similar problem when "autocomplete best match as
you type" is enabled.
Confirmed using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4)
Gecko/20050817 Firefox/1.0+. This might be a minor security hole.
