If a long line of text is typed or pasted in a text area, the text dissapears at
some point. Reloading the page doesn't make the text appear. Only after deleting
a piece of the line does the text appear again, which seems to indicate that it
happens only at a certain length of the line. The text is actually still there
(and selectable), only not displayed, since submitting the form also submitted
the text. I would also like to empasise that the weird behaviour manifests
itself only if the text is entered in one line only. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a text area  
2. Enter a long line of text

Actual Results:  
The text dissapears but is still selectable and submittable.

Expected Results:  
It should not dissapear.

Attachment: This text is no longer displayed when file size reaches 178KB

This bug should be raised to "critical" since most users will not realize that the text is still recoverable by "select all" and "paste".

Anyone still seeing this bug? The description makes it sound like a dupe of bug 237085 (now fixed), but I'm not sure what the attachment is comment 1 is supposed to demonstrate.

I can still reproduce the behaviour with Firefox 1.5.0.6, both Linux and Windows builds. Also, I just tried reproducing bug 237085 (which is marked resolved, as you already stated) and large amounts of text still disappear when entered in the 'Name' field. Something odd is happening here.

Thanks Denis. I'm not sure that the fix has made it into the 1.5 branch, yet, though. You'd probably have to try a recent 2.0 branch build:

I've been out of Firefox for a while now, so I'm not acquainted with the latest builds. I'll test it out on the nightlies and then post back here.

I tested this against the nightly and am unable reproduce both this and bug 237085, so it is most likely that it's a duplicate. I think it's safe to call this one squashed.
