30559 - Clicking on form field causes table to "jump" to the right

Procedure:
1)Go to www.aol.com
2)Click inside the field labeled "Enter AOL Screename"
3)The block of coloredbackground that the field is a part of will jump to the
right, ending up aligned roughly in the center of the page.  Scrolling down and
then back up or shifting to a different window and then back will result inthe
other content on the page dissapearing, leaving only the colored section with
the fields on the upper half of the page.
Moving the mouse around in the content to the right of the form fields will also
result in the same thing, particularly if you leave the mouse over the 'Get
Quote ' button on the stock lookup section.
Reproduced on two Win 98 machines running M14

Another example of where an incremental reflow causes tables to change. In this 
case the column widths seem to change

On today's builds only a small 1/8" jump and this site has been jumping on load 
for months.  Is there another top 100 site that demonstrates a worse user 
experience.

i see a jump of at least 2" on my win32 build from today (mozilla, debug).

I see a big jump (maybe 1-1.5"?) on smartvoter.org, click in the address field.
Happens every time.

Chris,
The PDT was convinced there was a good jump... but we see no comments about a
good fix :-(.  We're past the 3/10 cutoff... and I'm pretty tempted to live with
this ugliness :-( :-(.
Anything on hand to change my mind?

I was just told that Karnaze was out, and this bug has been sitting for several
days with no attention :-(
I think the bug has gotten worse, and that this may soon be a MUST FIX bug.
I'll raise it in the PDT meeting
