Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Intermittently, when opening Firefox 1.0.6, it apparently hangs without opening completely. When this happens, the URL/Address field is nonfunctional, and the browser is totally unresponsive. I have options set so that the tabs always show, even when only one is being used. I also use a blank page as my default startup page. It does not seem to matter whether I try to open Firefox from within an email link or from the QuickLaunch bar, though it happens somewhat more consistently when trying to launch Firefox by clicking a link in an email. I am using Outlook 2003 as my email client, and Firefox as my system default browser. To correct the problem, I have to close Firefox and try again. Almost always, on the second try, it opens correctly and works fine. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Please see "Details" section. Actual Results: Please see "Details" section. Expected Results: Firefox should open completely and be fully functional every time I try to access it, no matter where I try to access it from. Please see "Details" section.

I'm equally frustrated with this problem. I've got a home page set http://www.jenasysdesign.com.au but if a http link inside any standard application within windows XP, (Firefox is my default browser) opens and redirects. However it always fails. I have to close the instance of firefox or click on the link a second time to get firefox open a second time to navigate to the url.
I've also seen the behavior that Jamie describes--in fact, I just now experienced it again trying to open this page from the link in your Bugzilla response email. Any chance this will be addressed and fixed any time soon? In the meantime, I'm finding Opera an interesting alternative...

I have had the same issue in 1.0.7 and it seems to occur after I have hibernated my XP, as if it is not reloaded properly? If I reboot it goes away. Perhaps others can confirm this? My XP is entirely up to date: I show tabs even if only one is open, and firefox is my default browser. Since I hibernate my laptop a lot, this bug is a frequent occurence for me. Would LOVE a fix! :)
Mine has problems almost exactly every other time I try to start Firefox--doesn't matter whether I have rebooted or not. I never use Hibernate mode, so it isn't related to that, on my machine anyway.
