Instead there is an unnamed an unaccessible Folder visible in the Folderpane. Going back to Build 2005082408 restores the Local Folders. But with Build 2005082420 sended Messages (eg Newsgroup-Postings) are not stored in the "Sent-Subfolder" from Local Folders. Because of this Dataloss I would like to set Serverty to "Critical", please correct me if I am wrong. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install new Build from Creature 2005082420 or later 2. Open MailNews 3. Actual Results: No "Local Folders" visible in Folderpane. Instead there is an unnamed Folder which is not accessible. Expected Results: Show "Local Folders" in Folderpane. Open JavaScript-Console throws Error-Message: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIMsgFolder.isServer]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://messenger/content/commandglue.js :: FolderPaneSelectionChange :: line 863" data: no] The Bug occours also with Linux-Builds, reported from H. Figge in d.c.s.m.nb <430D2397.8030104@hfigge.myfqdn.de> Possible Regression from Checkin for Bug 63083?

Seeing it on Mac hardware, so moving PC -> All. Breaks also Thunderbird, as notified on bug 305900.

This must have been caused by an url that contains a % in the hostname part. Most likely this will be the mailbox urls looking like mailbox://nobody@Local%20Folders/Junk for example. The fix for 304904 has been backed out.

Can we fix mailnews to replace these illegal hostname characters with '_' or something? We really do need the security fix from bug 304904, I think...

See my comment on bug 304904, the check needs to be pushed into the DNSResolver. Its the only save place from all this strange urls schemes ...

BTW: This is surprsingly similar to bug 110938, which existed years ago.

I'm marking this fixed since Andreas backed out the change that caused this regression (thanks for the quick turn around Andreas).
