User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Firefox/1.0.4 Click any link on this page which will open another pop-up window with a The Windows Media Player(WMP) running in it. Without stopping the movie in the WMP, close the Window (by clicking 'X' button on the top right) One gets the message: "The plugin performed illegal Operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator" There are two bugs 1. The plugin performing illegal operation 2. The message sayd 'Navigator' - it should say 'Firefox' Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click a link on this page which opens a new window with 'Windows Media Player' 2. Without stopping the movie in the WMP, close the Window (by clicking 'X' button on the top right) 3. Thats It; you should get the error Actual Results: I got a message box with the following "The plugin performed illegal Operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator" and an OK button Expected Results: 1. No message window 2. Even if a message comes it should say "The plugin performed illegal Operation. You are strongly advised to restart Firefox" Std theme - no changes made after default installation of Firefox 1.0.4. Have Gmail Notifier plugin installed on my system
The message is necessary to tell the user that a plugin has done something wrong. Plugins are not made by mozilla so if they are crashing then the plugin manufacturer should be told of this. For the navigator issue, this bug has already been fixed. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 188557 ***
