User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 In OS X 10.4.2 Will not save ANY web page as (any kind of) pdf file. Nothing crashes, nothing changes, no error message. File just isn't created. Search and it's not there. Using Safari this problem does not occur. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select Print or Command-P 2.From PDF Tab Select "Save as PDF..." 3.Change file name or don't. Change location to save to or don't. Actual Results: The hard drive makes a reading or writing sound, but a short one. Nothing is saved. Nothing is found on the hard drive with the name you saved as. Otherwise nothing bad or unusual happens. Firefox continues to be on as if nothing happened. Expected Results: Expected to find that a pdf file was created and saved to my hard drive. None

Works for me. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050929 Firefox/1.6a1 1.25GHz Powerbook G4, 512Mb RAM, OS X 10.4.2. I also tried the reported build, it worked for me, although I did notice that the 2nd, 3rd, ... document printed I was offered the same name to save as as the first. (expected to see the page title each time and this is the behaviour I see in 1.6a1) Reporter: do you have a specific page that this didn't work on? I used various pages including bugilla entries, entries on answers.com, and stories linked from ap.org, all worked ok.

More info emailed to me by reporter (please don't do that!): === Thank you for your response of 9/29 I have tried it on many things, including those you recommended. No success. I do notice that each time I try to print as pdf, I can see on the desktop a quickly appearing and then disappearing file with the name I am asked to save as. But the file is not created. Can not find it with Cmd-F or with Spotlight. Strange little problem. My problem was with using Firefox 1.06. Same problem now using 1.0.7 So I use Safari.
This also happens for me with very similar behaviors: Try to print a page as PDF from Firefox 3.6.3 Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on Intel Mac. I am unable to print to many pages to PDF. This is a very important feature to me. Here are some ad hoc tests. Some succeed, some do not. When I try to print this page: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=305932 (text/html, standards mode, UTF-8, //W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN, "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd) it produces a PDF that CAN be opened. When I try to print this page: http://www.amazon.com/My-Mothers-Hymn-Book/dp/B000WIP690/ref=pd_sim_dmusic_a_1 (text/html,Quirks mode, ISO-8859-1) it produces a 770Kb pdf file that CAN'T be opened. When I try to print this page: http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2010/05/27/russian-lord-of-the-rings/#more-13464 (text/html, standards mode, UTF-8 - content type both ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8) it produces a 2Mb pdf file that CAN'T be opened. When I try to print this page: (Simple HTML) http://www.pendemonium.com/pens_dippen.htm (text/html,Quirks mode, ISO-8859-1, //W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN) it produces a 4.9Mb pdf file that CAN'T be opened. This page: (html, javascript, embedded flash ) http://www.homestarrunnerstore.com/rabycupofco.html (text/html, Quirks, ISO-8859-1, //W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN) produces a 307Kb pdf file that CAN be opened. This page: (html, javascript) https://www.klwines.com/detail.asp?sku=1047434 (text/html, Standards mode, ISO-8859-1, //W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN) produces a pdf that CAN be opened.
