When I close First Tab,FF closes 2nd and does nothing with 1st.Later, when I
open another it shows  "closed" tab

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open two tabs
2.load two distinctial URI 
3.try to close 1st tab
4.Try to open new tab

Actual Results:  
the 2nd tab closed, then you'll see 3 tabs (initial and new one)

Expected Results:  
the 1st tab closed and new empty tab opened

Works for me. Maybe an extension is messing things up?

I am guessing it has something to with tabbrowser extensuion or such other.
For me in 2005-09-19-08-trunk I cannot close tabs at all, except on browser exit.
Close Tab and Close Other Tab and the red X don't work.  I started with
-safe-mode.

Works for me. This is due to a bad extension you have installed. Find the
culprit, uninstall it, then it will be fixed.
