i have been reliably able to handle (save) other attachments?!
also, saving this message produces a file that i can use
(python) mime tools to extract successfully?!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on message
2.click on attachment
3 [review].cntl-click Save as..., prompted for place to save
4.this file is opened

Actual Results:  
Tbird hangs, beachball only until i kill it.

Expected Results:  
file saved

i should add that it isn't ALL MSWord .docs, just this one
(so far) exhibiting this hanging behavior.

version 1.6a1 (20050828) (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US)

Right click > Save As works fine for me. I saved the file to my desktop and
opened it with no problem.

Richard, Does this happen if you use thunderbird 1.5.0.4?
