when it's before or after special caracterss like "-" or \ 
and whatnot

whereas with Konqueror or ie it work perfectly here is an example :
  &nbsp.||  &nbsp.|.| &nbsp.||||| instead of :        .||   .|.|  .|||||||||

Isn't it supporsed to be   rather than just &nbsp
