User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.3; Linux 2.6.11-x1) (KHTML, like Gecko) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; (firefox 1.0.6) goto http://abc.net.au/news/nsw/weather/ and you will see many "?" symbols over the page if you look at source you will find a tilde "~" in the content section of the tags firefox renders the tilde as a "?" symbol or invalid character mozilla 1.7.8, amaya 9.2.1 and konqueror 3.3 do not Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://abc.net.au/news/nsw/weather/ 2.open view with firefox 1.0.6 3.look at righthand side column under "Major Centers:" Actual Results: look and you will see Expected Results: No "?" symbol should appear should be blank

What do you have under View->Character Encoding as charset? BTW i don't see any ~ characters on that page, only - where you described those ~ should be.
Hm, there's no "Major Centers" text on the page. And there's no tescase to confirm. I personally don't have problems with "~" characters. ->WFM.
