RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 307678

People

(Reporter: z.beauvais, Assigned: raccettura)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050901 Firefox/1.6a1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050901 Firefox/1.6a1

After opening the 'Report a Broken Web Site' box and accepting the terms and
conditions, if one chooses to cancel -- that is: to NOT report a broken website
-- the dialogue box only partially closes and becomes unresponsive. The Windows
close box will not close it, and no buttons/text are visable. The Window is
still recognised (that is: minimised in the toolbar), but will not allow itself
to be closed.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Help> Report a Broken Website,
2. Accept Terms and Conditions by pressing Next,
3. Choose to cancel (NOT report a broken website)/ or/ close the window

Actual Results:
The dialogue box became unresponsive, and all text/ form buttons are invisible,
though the window itself remains.

Expected Results:
Window is expected to close -- the dialogue cancelled.
Works for me! same build ID. Extension conflict perhaps?

I use a separate profile to test, no extentions or themes loaded (aside from the
custom install options from download).

It could have been an XP error, though the window finally closed when I quit
firefox completely. Hasn't reoccurred completely, but is still sluggish to close.

Cheers
It happened for me in the Firefox 1.5 Beta RC
Can anyone reproduce this? Speak quick.
(In reply to comment #4)
I had the same or a similar problem, but I can't reproduce it right now :(. In
my experiances, only the red button in the corner to close the window was still
visible; everything else diappeared but something odd happened: it displayed
whatever web page I was viewing! If I moved the window around, the image became
garbled. The window was unresponsive other than moving it around. The window
closed when I closed Firefox. Hope this helps!

Happens to me too.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4
Just happened to me, this time after I had reported a site; I did ask the report
mechanism to show me the details of the report--which may have effected the
closing of the Reporter, but I have no way of testing that.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908
Firefox/1.4 ID:2005090806
I've seen it too. Just installed 1.5 Beta 1. Cancelled a report and then
completed a report. Same behaviour as above. (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows
NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4)
I have a feeling this isn't reporter specific, but something with the XUL <wizard/>.
Ok, I believe this is a dup of bug 307678, because we use window.openDialog
http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/extensions/reporter/resources/content/reporter/reporterOverlay.js#40

I'm duping this, because I'm rather confident about this. If someone can prove
otherwise, let me know and we'll look into it closer.
