I did manage subscriptions/add and entered in
http://phpicalendar.net:80/phpicalendar/rss/rss.php?cal=Home&cpath=&rssview=month

This caused thunderbird to hang indefinitely while diplaying "Verifying
the feed".  Clicking ok will cancel the operation.

The feed seems to work fine in safari.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add the url above into an rss feed
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
thunderbird hangs in infinite loop

Expected Results:  
either the rss feed should be added or an error
message displayed.

Works fine here, version 1.0+ (20050901) /linux.

I'm seeing the same problem: enter this feed's URL, the Manage Subscriptions 
dialog shows "Verifying the RSS feed..." and an empty, never-updated progress 
bar.  My firewall shows that TB opens an HTTP port to the site, which closes 
shortly thereafter, but no further progress.

When I finally click the window-close widget, I get: "Are you sure you wish to 
cancel subscribing...?"

I see this with TB 1.5a1-0904 and TB 1.6a1-0904.

This patch will fix the downloading problem, but Thunderbird will parse the
wrong number of items due to Bug 264482.

Verifying that the specified feed gets added in TB 1.6a1-1101.  

However, as Robert warned, adding the feed seemed retrieve a number of items but only one item was in the folder when I looked.
