i will be browsing, or looking at mail, and even when i am on your site, the
browser will do it on any site. the browser will pause (lock up) for about a 1/2
min then the guts of the browser, (all but the boarders) will go blank for about
1/2 a min then everthing is back to normal for another 2 to 3 min. it is highly
annoying. and takes 3 times as long to do anything befor waiting for it to jump
start. it is a regular repeating pattern

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start browser
2. so something in the browser for  about 3 min
3.wait for the browser to restart

Actual Results:  
the problem repeates

Expected Results:  
not have the 2 - 3 hicup every 3 min.

it is probably a virus or spy ware, but i have ran 6 different spy and virus
killing programs on a dayley basis.

Could also be a memory or Hard Disk paging issue. or if its a network profile,
network lag.

this problem only occurs with mozilla firfox browser. explorer, netscape, and
opera do not do this.

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME
