When I click "Download" the player is launched and I didn't find any way to
disable it. Preferences concerning file types and plug-ins are empty and there
is no way to disable/enable any thing because buttons are simply greyed and are
unavailable. With the right button menu, no way to load because "save link as"
don't show (the link is an image).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to this site "http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html"
2. Select .rpm version
3. Click "Download" and that is all

Actual Results:  
Player is launched considering the .rpm file as a sound file

Expected Results:  
have a way to permit to save file to disk in place of oppenning it. 

I tried quickly on Windows XP (firefox 1.0.6) and I am afraid it is the same thing.

Do you have .rpm files set to open with a specific plugin in Preferences >
Downloads > Actions?

As I said before, in Preferences > File types , the list of associated
applications along with the lisr of plug-ins are both empty.

Besides, I can find no mean to add new file types with their associated
applications!

For some unknown reason they are serving the RPM file as Content-Type:
audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin which is causing it to open with your media player.
