Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 At Thawte.com's personal email certificate system, I requested a certificate for Netscape/Mozilla. After selecting the certificate Type and pressing the "Fetch" button, I navigate to Firefox>Preferences>Advanced>Certificates>Manage Certificates and there's nothing in the list. Restarted Firefox but still no joy. Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Navigate to https://www.thawte.com/cgi/personal/contents.exe (need login) 2. Select certificates>new certificate status in the menu on the left 3. In the list of certs, selecte the "Navigator" type that you previously created 4. In new page, click Fetch at bottom of screen Actual Results: Firefox status bar indicates a transfer of data from thawte web site, but no certificate is present in Firefox. Expected Results: The new certificate should be listed in the Manage Certificates pane.

What makes you think that this button should load the certificate into Firefox?

I did a search on the web for methods of getting Thawte certificates into the Mac environment. There were many reports that said I needed Mozilla; that Safari or IE/Mac wouldn't work. (In reply to comment #1) > What makes you think that this button should load the certificate into Firefox?
(In reply to comment #1) > What makes you think that this button should load the certificate into Firefox? On Windows, this is exactly what happens. You download the cert into FF, then can export it and re-import it into, for example, TB.

I don't believe so. 117992 gets a blank page instead of some relevant informaiton, but the certificate is installed into the store. In my case, the certificate is not installed in the store...no cert! Thanks (In reply to comment #4) > Related to bug 117992?

That's like saying "Click on this link so I can save random crap to your hard drive." Not going to happen unless the devs go into a nuthouse.

This isn't random ****, it's very specific = X.509 certs. S/MIME depends on X.509 certs and Mozilla is (or was) the only means of obtaining a Thawte cert on the Mac. It used to work, which kinda suggests that it was considered of value once before and I doubt those wise people are nutters.
