User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113
Build Identifier: Latest Mozilla Application Suite (as of 09/05/05)

Just tried to install the latest Mozilla Application Suite onto another computer
running Windows XP. I have been succesfully using the suite on my computer for
several years. Had some trouble downloading similar to others seen in your bug
reports in that, if I saved the executable file to disk and attempted to open in
from there, I would get a message saying that it was not win 32 compatible. It
did install, however, if opened from Internet Explorer directly. After
installation, it could not open any web pages. If closed, the window closed,
but mozilla.exe remains active in the Task Manager. If you open and close
mozilla several times, several active copies show as open in the Task Manager.
I have ocassionally seen this on my Windows 2000 system (at work), and when it
happens there the Navigator will not function properly unless the "extraneous"
copies are closed from the Task Manager. In this case, however, the Task
Manager does not seem to be able to close the copies - no error message, just no
effect when the attempt is made.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install from Internet Explorer (Mozilla set to default browser)
2.Close IE and open Mozilla
3.Mozilla has no ability to open web pages
4. Closing and reopening Mozilla has no effect, neither does rebooting. If
closed and opened repeatedly, mozilla.exe remains open in Task Manager.

Actual Results:
Described above

Expected Results:
I expected Mozilla to run as it has on other PCs. I've had no problems with it
for years
I guess you have installed Mozilla 1.7.11. Do you run any personal firewall
which perhaps blocks Mozilla?

I'm not sure how related this is, but I closed Seamonkey 1.0 and hit ctrl-alt-delete on win xp, and seamonkey.exe is STILL in the processes list, taking up ~30mb of memory. its closed, quick launch for it is disabled... whys it in there? one thing, i do have it running from a pgp-drive (N:), but i dont see why that would make a difference since n: is mounted just as any other drive. i have all my profiles stored in that drive too (just a pgd file in my c: drive). Anyway, why doesn't closing it remove it from memory?
Could you verify whether this problem occurs on a recent version of SeaMonkey or nightly build (http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/) please?
