Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050804 Firefox/1.0.6 (MOOX M3)
I know this is a Moox build optimized for my processor, but I have experienced
the same crash in the official Mozilla FF v1.0.6 build as well. Azureus, as you
may know, is a torrent downloading client/manager, I have it set as the default.
But for some reason, after opening the torrent file right from the download
manager, Azureus (if not already started) will startup, loading it's own
components, etc.. This causes Firefox to lockup, then about 15 secs later, the
frozen program just drops out of task, thus I lose everything that was opened/
tabbed.. Can be very annoying indeed..
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install the Azureus torrent downloading client/manger
2.Download a .torrent file.
3.Open this .torrent file from the download manager with Azureus.
Actual Results:
If Azureus is already started (idling in the system tray) you'll be alright, but
if it has to start up cold (several loading bars display quickly), something in
that startup WILL cause FireFox to lockup, EVERY time. Just try it.
Expected Results:
It should've acted like it does when opening a .torrent from the download
manager to an external Bit Torrenting app, regaurdless of wether that
application has to startup on the spot. So far, Azureus is the only one I've
found to do anything of this sort.
The Downloading manager seems to be the top-most Firefox window open when the
crash occurs. A noticable framebuffer clog leaves white over the Firefox windows
where Azureus' loading window appears, then, all the Firefox windows just disappear.
I have experienced the same problem, and it is reproducable 100% of the time. It also exists in the default build of Firefox 1.07.
Update:
I've found that, the browser does not completely crash in this situation, but rather is frozen for a long period of time (more than 20 seconds), at which point it starts working again. I'm not sure if this is the case all the time, or just some of the time.

I can't reproduce here with a test installation of Azureus 2.4 and Firefox 1.5.
Can you still reproduce it ?
