RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 257391

People

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

I noticed that when Thunderbird is running and you have just received a new
email firefox seems to display the message as un-read, displaying a new message,
even after you have viewed the email. So i sent myself another email to see if
the result would be the same and sure enough firefox reports that I have 1 new
message when in fact the message is old.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Thunderbird and send yourself a few email messages.
2. Start Firefox then receive your test 'messages' in Thunderbird
3. View all the messages and check the tools menu for new messages in Firefox

Actual Results:
same result as before, A false report from firefox.

Expected Results:
Firefox should detect the routine from Thunderbird and report the message as
read after the user has click off the message. Mabye some kind of application
hook might fix this issue. But then again who really notices stuff like that but
me... :)
This is probably a dupe of either bug 246143 or bug 257391
Reporter, is this still an issue in the latest builds? If so, mark it as a dupe
of bug 246143, else mark this as a dupe of bug 257391.
