My problem is simular. When trying to open an folder in local folders it doesn't open, the little hour glass icon stays there till I click on something else. I'm using Mozilla
Mozilla 1.7.12
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 The Browser I had before worked great this problem started shortly after upgrading.
Because this Bug was about 2 1/2 yaers inactive, I will close this for now as "incomplete".

John, from your description I think, that your HDD has run out of free space, so you need to delete some Files before you can copy Messages into another folder, which requires diskspace.

If this problem was still present for you, feel free to reopen this Bug and submit more information.
