repro:
1.Open FF
2.Open Options->Tabs 
  set Open links from other applications - a new tab in the most recent window
3.Uncheck Forece links that open a new window to open in:
4.create a url shotcut on dektop
5.Press restore down (middle button top right) and make sure the windowsize is
smaller than maximum.
6.Press Maximize to maximize the window again.
7.minimize the window
8.doubleclick the shortcut

result:
the url is opened in a new tab in the last window, but instead of being
maximized the window has the downsize.

(the same happens with links opened from another app or an associated file)

Oops, additional.
The window ONLY opens in maximized size if the ext app or ext link has to start FF

Thought I remembered an even earlier bug, but I can't find it now.
