307628 - Path containing accented characters like 'é' don't show in the about:config page

I've changed the path of the bookmarks file. The new path begins with:
'F:\Secrétariat\' (contains a french accented character). This path does not
show in the about:config page. The value for 'browser.bookmarks.file' preference
is empty.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change bookmarks file location to a folder containing an 'é' character in its
name by adding this line to prefs.js file:
user_pref("browser.bookmarks.file", F:\\Secrétariat\\Favoris\\bookmarks.html");
2. Open Firefox and type about:config in the location bar.
3. Check the value for 'browser.bookmarks.file' preference.
Actual Results:  
The value for 'browser.bookmarks.file' preference is empty.


Expected Results:  
The value for 'browser.bookmarks.file' preference should be:
"F:\Secrétariat\Favoris\bookmarks.html"

Tried trunk and branch. In about:config I see the right name: "F:\secrétariat"
but it makes a new folder "F:\secrétariat" and puts the bookmarks in it. Sadly
enough the default set but that was easy to solve.

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.3 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
