User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050907 Firefox/1.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050907 Firefox/1.4 There is a context menu entry when right clicking on a selected text which is "search web for <selected text>". Context menu is IMHO the latest place where people look for a feature. There is no icon in the toolbars nor no menu entry for this feature, thus people do not know it. I should Firefox should implement a button and a menu entry in "Tools". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select a phrase or a word. 2.There is no menu entry nor no button to "search the web for" the selected text Expected Results: A new button and a menu entry in "Tools". [This report is in the Toolbars component, but should also be in the Menus component.]

This would be the equivalent of adding copy and paste to a toolbar... it's bad UI and is just wrong IMO. Probably a WONTFIX.

of course, we have those items... Anyway, this is really a context-driven feature, and doesn't need a top-level menuitem, IMO.
