Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

I wanted to create two accounts to one newsserver to split messages from a
workaccount emailaddress and from a personal one. Couldn't do it, the second
news account wasn't created and now I'm getting "do you want to subscribe to the
group?" messages when accessing groups from the one account I had earlier. Tried
it twice btw...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. try setting up two newsgroup accounts with identical server addresses, but
different names, emailaddresses and account names
2. TB won't issue an error message, but not create the second account
3. when accessing the only newsserver, even already subscribed groups will issue
a "do you want to subscribe to this group" message (annoying ;-) )

Actual Results:
annoying subscribe messages popup when accessing already subscribed groups

Expected Results:
create a second newsserver account with a different account name

It gives more headache (in TB 1.0), like phantom and non-working and undeletable (not necessarily all at once) accounts.
Not willing to try, because it trashes the profile a little, so had to edit it manually some times.
A fix could add the option of choosing the port number when creating a new account.
Seems like the existing TB bug for this is bug 226303.
