Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/412.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/412.5
Build Identifier: version 1.5 beta 1

In the Finder, the brand new version 1.5 beta 1 is listed as version 1.4. VersionTracker Pro reads this
info and tells me I do not have the latest version of Firefox installed, when in fact I do.

I emailed versiontracker tech support, and here is their reply:

"We've made it so it doesn't show up in red but can't do much beyond that as Mozilla has coded the
bundle version key as 1.4 in the info.plist file. Basically just ignore it, you'll still be notified of the next
update."

So this seems to be a bundle version key bug.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. reinstall latest beta version
2.
3.

Actual Results:
still says 1.4 in the "version" info in the finder

Expected Results:
should have said "version 1.5 beta 1"
This is expected for this part of the beta cycle and we won't see 1.5 until 1.5.

From Dev news "Firefox and Thunderbird on the 1.8 branch will check for
extension compatibility with version 1.4. This is the number we will use for
Firefox 1.5 beta. Release candidate(s) will check for version 1.4.1 (and 1.4.2
if necessary). The final release of Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5 will check for
extension compatibility with version 1.5."
