Highlighting text marked up with the xml:lang and lang attributes and an ISO 639
code and bringing up the Properties box will show the full language name. For
example, the Properties box will display "Language: Slovak" for <span
xml:lang="sk" lang="sk">Prešov</span>. However, this applies only to the
two-letter ISO 639 codes, the full names for three-letter codes have not been
added. For example, <span xml:lang="chu" lang="chu">бесѣдовати</span> shows only
"Language: chu" in the Properties box, not "Language: Old Church Slavonic" as
would be nice.

I would think this is possible without much work and hope that this
functionality could be added soon.

Reproducible: Always
Related to Core bug 22310 and/or Core bug 178491 comment 6?
See also bug 178491 comment 3 and bug 178491 comment 4. jshin, do you think we
should reconsider adding the alpha-3 language codes to languageNames.properties?
There are currently 453 alpha-3 codes and the properties file now contains 185
alpha-2 codes and 7 alpha-3 codes, so it would make it considerably larger.

In fact there is a two-letter code for Old Church Slavonic: cu. See http://www.iana.org/assignments/language-subtag-registry
