307897 - The error dialog displayed when installing patch as non-root is unclear

If I try to install the extension patch at
https://addons.mozilla.org/messages/307259.html as a user other than root, I get
an error message that says:

Firefox could not download the file at
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0.6/patches/307259.xpi
because: Read only

Now I can download it just fine, but it apparently won't install because firefox
is not being run as root and doesn't have permissions.

Reproducible: Always
