User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050715 Firefox/1.0.6 SUSE/1.0.6-13
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050715 Firefox/1.0.6 SUSE/1.0.6-13

The context menu in the right pane of the bookmark manager is only enabled if an
entry in it is selected. This makes it e.g. impossible to create a new folder
and then enter it and select "paste".

Reproducible: Always

This seems to work for me. Could you please retest in the latest build?
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8/
I tested the latest nightly build and it still doesn´t work.
How can I help in debugging this?
It still doesn´r wqork with the newest build.
The context menu is available if there´s an entry selected, even if you don´t
click on it but into en empty area. But if nothing is selected (which is when
you navigate to a folder using the left pane) it´s not available. I
double-checked on a different system.

Michael, can you reproduce this bug with a latest release or nightly build of Firefox 2 or 3? If not, please resolve it as WORKSFORME. Thanks.

…but confirmed with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7pre) Gecko/20070813 BonEcho/2.0.0.7pre

I can confirm this too with
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; de; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6
this should have been fixed on trunk by bug 195031

branch only bug, since it is not a major bug this should probably be closed as WFM
ops, don't mind comment #7, wrong bug (damn)
this WFM on current Trunk
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007091111 Minefield/3.0a8pre
WFM on current Trunk on Mac as well. I run the trunk build for dogfooding with the new Flash on my Mac.
