Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050906 Firefox/1.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050906 Firefox/1.4 ENV: MSWin XP / Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 Chatzilla is broken when I downloaded from hacksrus: http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/xpi/chatzilla-0.9.68.5.xpi The download @ https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=16 works, and is also the one "advertised" on the #chatzilla IRC channel. If there are going to be two servers for this extension, they need to be in-sync. The top hits in google for 'chatzilla' have consistently been:a http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/ http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/ directed me to http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ Aside, http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/ does not include the word download. Aside 2, http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ shows a screenshot on the main page of a black background, which is not the default cfg on my comp. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ 2. Download the most recent revisions: http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/xpi/chatzilla-0.9.68.5.xpi Actual Results: Chatzilla downloaded from http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla does not work on Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 . Expected Results: See Actual Results.

The version on the hacksrus.com website is not compatible with Firefox after 1.0+ (i.e. it wont INSTALL into Firefox 1.4/1.5/1.6). It is not broken in any way. The decision to not put 0.9.68.5.1 (which has no functionality changes over 0.9.68.5) on that website is because Firefox users are never directed anywhere near it. They are told to get extensions from addons.mozilla.org, the IRC channel points them there too, and Firefox's auto-update will only check there. The next release with functionality changes (and so applies to things other than Firefox) will be posted to both sites (and will actually appear on the homepage first).
