User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 I've been using the phoenity theme with 1.06. After the upgrade process to 1.5 Beta 1 this theme is now disabled (as expected). But the toolbar background (chrome) color varies from button to button and from one area to the next. For example, it will be a lighter shade at first, then if I open and close a menu the area previously under the menu is redrawn in a darker shade of the chrome color. Using 1024x768 16bit color. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Note toolbar background color. 2. Open and close a menu, hover over a button or resize the window. 3. Note that the toolbar background color has changed slightly in appearance. Actual Results: The area repainted is painted in the wrong color. Expected Results: Redrawn the interface with the same color that was there to begin with. None.

This is possibly being caused by your theme not completely being disabled. Do you still see this in safe mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Several other users have encountered this bug in Win98 and WinME on the MozillaZine forums. The thread is at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=343775 Switching to 32-bit mode fixes this so I don't think it has anything to do with the theme. Even machines which did not have previous themes installed are having this problem in 16-bit mode. This might be caused by or related to bug 14147 (image transperency not rendering properly in 16 bit color mode). -Robert

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

I have not encountered this since I upgraded to Firefox 2.0 so I'm marking it as WORKSFORME as requested.
