I get this as well, using the latest available version (0.9.85).
Hey guys - Any plans to release a version for 1.5? It would certainly help the yahoo toolbar team fix our bugs in 1.5. I modified the install.rdf to let it install in 1.5b2 and it sort-of works but gives the following errors, among other things: Error loading URL <XStringBundle>: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x804b000a [nsIIOService.newChannel]" nsresult: "0x804b000a (<unknown>)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://venkman/content/venkman-url-loader.js :: _getChannelForURL :: line 54" data: no]. Error loading URL <XStringBundle>: 2147500037. Internal error dispatching command “help”. ReferenceError: getBrowserURL is not defined @ <chrome://venkman/content/venkman-utils.js> 301
Summary: extension does not load in Firefox 1.5 beta 1 → extension does not load in Firefox 1.5 beta 2
This bug needs to be marked confirmed! It does NOT work in firefox 1.5 beta 2 either, but that's to be expected.
Summary: extension does not load in Firefox 1.5 beta 2 → venkman does not load in Firefox 1.5 beta 2
I'll confirm it. Chris n Rob can yell at me later if need be.

This seems to be fixed in RC1 and RC2.
This is NOT fixed in RC 2! Tested and confirmed to fail.
venkman 0.9.85 could not be installed into Firefox 1.5 (released version) with message about not compatible with 1.5 only with 0.9 up to 1.1. There exists already a patched version with fixed maxVersion and some smaller fonts inside the source window, but I think there should be an new official release with these changes, so everbody could install and use venkman without patching and hacking or using an unofficial version.
Just a note that the above mentioned patched version can be found at: http://getahead.ltd.uk/ajax/venkman Having an official release that worked with 1.5 would be ideal.
benwei@u.washington.edu: what bugs in bugzilla.mozilla.org have cvs diff patches for your changes? this bug is not the proper way to do business and certainly not posting patches isn't either.
Venkman on trunk has a maxVersion of 1.6, which would work for 1.5.x, current trunk nightlies, but not the 2.0 branch. It also seems to work just fine. It's been four months that we've deprived Firefox users of the JavaScript debugger, shouldn't we update the version on AMO?
The problem is no-one *can* update the one on UMO, except rginda. I have asked, at least twice, to be added to the list so I can update it, but it's just not materialised. And four months is putting is nicely... have you seen the date on it?
James, rginda has just added you to developers list on AMO.
Excelent. I'll put whatever-is-on-trunk up after I've tested it.
JavaScript Debugger Version 0.9.86 - Pending Approval I bumped the version to 86 on trunk so we actually had a proper marker for the release. Let's hope we can keep going forward. ;)
0.9.86 seems to have been approved, as it's displaying on https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=216 - so I'm going to close this. Thanks James
