Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50630) Build Identifier: If I have several messages in Hotmail with inline images, I can start reading them and see the images. After a handful of messages, the next message will display only the image names, not the images themselves. If I exit Firefox and open it again, login to Hotmail and go directly to the message that failed before, the images display correctly. I read a few more messages, and then the images break again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have a Hotmail account with 10 messages, 10 inline images per message. 2. Start reading each message. 3. When the progblem happens, make note of the message you were looking at. 4. Exit Firefox. 5. Open Firefox again. 6. Logon to Hotmail. 7. Go directly to the message where the problem happened. Actual Results: Images stop rendering at some point, render again after exiting Firefox and starting a new instance. Expected Results: Images render always.

What Firefox version do you test with? Does it work in safe mode?

(In reply to comment #1) > What Firefox version do you test with? Does it work in safe mode? It happens with Firefox 1.0.6 It also happens with Netscape 8 on the same machine (installed Netscape 8 without removing Firefox). I think it started happening with Firefox 1.0.5, but I am not positive of this. I am sure it never happened with 1.0.4. What is "safe mode"?

You can start Firefox in "safe mode" via /start menu/programs/mozilla firefox/mozilla firefox "safe mode" This will launch Firefox without any extensions or themes enabled. This to see if they are causing this issue Anyway, can you please retest with Firefox 1.5 beta1: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/

> You can start Firefox in "safe mode"... I tried it and the problem still happened. FYI, with Netscape 8, when I use the Mozilla/Firefox rendering engine I get the same results than Firefox. If I switch to IE rendering I can see the images on one message, when I go to the next one, I get red X's. I switch to Firefox engine, problem continues, I swich back to IE engine I can see the message fine, go to the next message and the problem presents itself again. So it may not be a browser problem, but a site problem? > Anyway, can you please retest with Firefox 1.5 beta1: > http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/ That would be the next thing to try. Thanks.

Yes, however the behavior is much less frequent and much less regular. With the previous versions it was a given that this would happen within 3 HTML messages containg images. Now, it sometimes happens with the 2nd message, sometimes I can read 10 messanges and never get it, some times when I hit the 8th message I start to get it. One thing remains constant. The behavior is not reversible. Once it starts happening, it will continue doing that until I exit the browser and start over.
