At this moment we can not ship a dutch spelling dic with Tb because of licences issues. You can install a dutch dic truew the setting menu of Tb

i have add the following text to the mail startpage (dutch: you can download the dictionary from mozdev, because of the GNU/GPL licence can it not be a part of standard installation) <h2>Spellingcontrole</h2> <p>Voor Nederlandse (en andere) spellingcontrole, bezoek mozdev’s <a href='http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/installation.html'>woordenboeken voor Mozilla</a>, of:</p> <ul><li><a href='http://downloads.mozdev.org/dictionaries/spell-nl.xpi'>download het Nederlandse woordenboek rechtstreeks</a>.</li></ul> <p>Deze woordenboeken zijn beschikbaar onder de GNU/GPL licensie en mogen daarom niet standaard meegeleverd worden in Thunderbird NL.</p>">

(In reply to comment #2) Ok, this is a nice solution for now, but how come the English dictionary gets included by default? I assume it is under the GPL too. Is there no workaround? (Tim Maks: Aan wie kan dit gevraagd woren?)

If we find a dic that is under the BSD or MPL licence we can add that to the build
