I created a new POP account for gmail which seemed to complete successfully
however it doesn't appear in the account/folder pane.  Restarting Thunderbird
doesn't make any difference.

Actual Results:  
New account does not appear in Folder pane

Expected Results:  
New account should appear in Folder pane
By default, TB now uses a global store for POP e-mail (Local Folders - Inbox). 
So you won't see a separate set of folders.  There is an option to use a
separate inbox for newly-created POP accounts when you run the setup wizard.

If this is the porblem, please close the bug.
Ok, I understand.  Things have moved on a bit since I last used POP.  Closing bug.
