User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.9) Gecko/20050711 Firefox/1.0.5 Build Identifier: www.mozilla.org TB for Linux 1.0.5 (20050711) Hello! Using Thunderbird is terribly slow over ssh from inside my company's network to my Mac at home. Other GUI apps, including Evolution, are much much faster. This is constant and even when I have measurably high throughput to the company network. It manifest as a slow open; when I click my first mail, it takes ~1-2 minutes for the text of the mail to be shown, then another 30s or so for the header box to show up. Any scrolling activity is agonizing. Any thoughts? Thanks! --j Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. ssh to box in company network with X forwarding on 2. start Thunderbird 3. wait a very long time Expected Results: Go faster. =]
was asked by someone if this is still a problem. I can say I've not had this problem since I left that employer in June 2006. ;p I have no easy way to recheck this.
