Details

Seen on Mac 1.7.12 2005-09-13-20-1.7

-Type a simple search term in the location bar (house)
-Arrow down to select Search for "house"
-hit enter (hmmm.... nothing), hit enter again

tested results: after the first "enter" nothing happens. after the second
enter, a url match, www.house.com, loads in the browser.

expected results: after the first "enter," We chould get a google search results
listing for "house" (sidebar should open as well)

work around is to use the "Search" button instead of the location bar drop down
selection
1.7.11 was shipped with this.
do we know what security fix on the 1.7 branch regressed this?
Flags: blocking1.7.13?
Can't reproduce on this build:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915
I can't repro this with the Mac 1.7.12 release (same build date as Neil).
Could this be caused by stale preference for the search engine (as in bug 300561)? There are a few similar reports of this happening: bug 268460, bug 229929 and maybe bug 228303.
