When I start FF 1.5b1 up, it takes about 30Mb of memory. This slowly creeps up,
until no matter how many tabs/windows I close of FF it keeps the accumulated
memory - was 90Mb a little while ago.

Running a memory cleaning utility instantly drops the FF memory used to its
origianl level

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open FF
2. use for an hour or so (or just have open)
3. monitor the memory via taskman

Actual Results:
the FF memory repored in taskman

Expected Results:
release memory back when tab(s) are closed.

Not really. They just shrink your working set, but that isn't permanent. You're
looking at the wrong column in Task Manager (the real memory is in a hidden column).
which is the right column?
As an example, I've got 1 FF window, minimised , no tabs:
mem usage = 66mb, peak MU = 177Mb, VM = 80mb
is there an alternative to taskman that shows the memory accurately?
