Double click on "retry" link (or perhaps clicking "retry" then "cancel" in fast succession) causes download to vanish from download manager but continues in the background

Start with an empty download manager. While downloading a file that's large
enough to give you some time, try clicking or double-clicking the "cancel"
and "retry" links quickly. It doesn't happen every time, but usually within a
few tries the entry for the download disappears from the download manager. If
you then wait a while (until the download would have finished) the "download
complete" popup window appears. If you check the download folder you see that,
indeed, the download continued and finished. It seems that the entry in the
download manager is simply getting lost while the actual download proceeds.
The "clean up" button is enabled, however. Closing the "empty" download
manager and reopening does not correct the problem. After pressing the "clean
up" button nothing happens except that the "clean up" button becomes disabled.

If you do the same thing with another item in the download manager list then
the items occasionally switch positions. This makes it really hard to click
the links fast enough to cause the above behavior. But why the reordering,
anyway?
Ben: I saw something very similar on the Mac when I was testing today. The
interesting thing is that at some point the download continued but the progress
bar was not functioning. I was at that time downloading winzip.exe. The download
did complete successfully but it was not a good user experience at all.
I was also able to randomly reproduce the progress bar (and missing status text)
on Linux 1.0.7

I haven't seen this in a long time... WFM unless Marcia or Tracy disagree.
