User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) Build Identifier: Firefox Version 1.0.6 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 This happened after I downloaded a critical update for Firefox. I remove Firefox and then reinstalled; the same thing happened. I have tried it on another CPU and the same thing happened. I know I am missing something, but can't find it. Firefox was working perfectly until the critical update was installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Downloaded the critical update and followed the instructions 2. Asked if I wanted to launch Firefox and I said yes. 3. Firefox initial board comes up, but it says the website could not be found Actual Results: Absolutely nothing Expected Results: loaded up to www.comcast.net. I tried other bookmarks, but it says the same, could not be found.

Try checking your firewall settings. If that doesn't work, check out this KB article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic
Summary: No web pages will appear; they just say they could not be found, try again. → No web pages will appear; they just say they could not be found, try again.

This is because your firewall thinks that firefox.exe is a new program. Please set it to allow firefox.exe to access the Internet.
