There should be an option to have focus remain in the tree view even when the
mouse is clicked.

Related to bug 297786 and bug 278599?
I think this is by design. If you only use the keyboard to navigate the list it 
doesn't make the focus jump. So, you can hit Ctrl+H, tab into the history list 
and then down arrow.
If you select an item in the Bookmark/History with your mouse the focus blinks, with the keyboard the is no problem.

I think its not by design because other list items like in the Menu->Edit tab work as espected.
