When comparing the height of the statusbar between Firefox and Thunderbird you
will see a difference of 2px. This difference is raised by the top and bottom
padding of the #offline-status statusbarpanel.

A patch is upcoming.
This patch sets the height of the #offline-status statusbarpanel to 22px. So it
honors the dimension of all other statusbarpanels in Thunderbird and Firefox.
