Details
From the server not found XUL error page:
"If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that
Firefox is permitted to access the Web."
That's all well and good, but how many grandmas are going to know how to
configure their firewall?
We should include a link on the XUL error page to firewall documentation in the
help viewer. The documentation doesn't exist yet, see bug 308979.

Asking for blocking status because this is the number 1 support issue and the
fix would have a very low chance of regressions.

Not sure why this is marked as late-l10n, since we're not talking about changing
the text of the error messages, but rather talking about adding in a link that
opens the help viewer.
I take it, BTW, that such links are possible to do without worrying about chrome
priveledges, etc?

Presumably because the link needs some text attached to it? Or is there already
a string that could be used for that? Also, I guess, because bug 308979 would
have l10n impact.

From what I understand, I don't think it is possible.

Ah. I was thinking we'd just hyperlink it up a little bit. You know, like:
"If your computer or network is protected by a _firewall_ or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

not going to block on this but if beltzner comes up with something and wants it
in, feel free to request approval for a fully reviewed patch.

FWIW, I don't think that this is important enough to block, either, especially
since the documentation doesn't yet exist. Once bug 308979 is fixed, we can
consider doing something about this one.

removing late-l10n keyword since this doesn't seem to be blocking any upcoming release. add back if that changes. thanks.

Also, unless we had a way to send that link to another browser, it would be pretty useless for grandma, who might not think to copy and paste it.
(yes, this is ageist and sexist, I know, I know)
