I have the option to scroll down and up using the right side of the touch pad 
mouse and on IE browser, i can navigate back and forward using the top side of 
the touch pad by sliding from left to right for forward(>) and back by sliding 
right to left(<)

I love your browser but i have gotten used to this convenience...is there any 
way to fix this.

This looks like bug 202615
interesting variation on this problem.  With a synaptic touch pad, the scroll
and tap functions do not work with more than one tab open in deer park beta 2
Does this still happen with Firefox 3.6.3 or later in safe mode?
No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.x or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
