Bitstream Vera Serif is a great screen font. It is rendered correctly in other
browsers. I listed this page's URL as an example but any page which uses this
font has the same problems. The spacing between letters is uneven. Sometimes a
of text will be a bit too long and spill over into, say, a graphic (e.g.,
Slashdot) or a letter or two will be lost off the right hand side of a page
(e.g., this page). I don't know much about font metrics or whatever so maye I'm
all wet and it's a sucky font.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Get the fonts here: http://www.gnome.org/fonts/. I suppose that I might be
using an non-current version.
2.Load any page with text displayed in Bitstream Vera Serif.
3.
Actual Results:
My head exploded.
Expected Results:
Given me eternal happiness.
Looking at the text that is immediately above where I'm typing right now, it
seems that there are additional problems when bold text is mixed in with regular
text--some overlapping ("overstruck") characters appear.
