The current icon looks wierd, it can't be read by IconEdit or PMView, and it only contains VGA sizes. The attached icon is derived from the current Windows 256-color icon, has both VGA & XGA sizes, and it looks pretty good. Yet another thing that ought to go into the 1.8 branch as well as the trunk...

new Thunderbird icon
Hmm, which file is this supposed to replace? The current
mozilla\mail\app\mozos2.ico looks very different (and more like the
corresponding thunderbird.ico of Windows)?!

(In reply to comment #2) > Hmm, which file is this supposed to replace? The current > mozilla\mail\app\mozos2.ico looks very different This replaces the icon in mozilla/other-licenses/branding/thunderbird/ which is only used for official releases. The one you're looking at is for other builds. The same is true for Firefox: browser/app has the generic icon, branding/firefox has the trademarked icon.

Thanks for doing this.
I didn't realize it was a problem.
