User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 I get the "this document contains no data" on LOTS of websites. It happens on LOTS of websites... many are totally reliable (such as EBay) but it doesn't seem to matter which ones - there is no predicting it. Often the entire page will (eventually) load in spite of the error message, but I A L W A Y S have to click the OK button before that will happen. This message comes up ALL the time (wait, let me be more specific.. I don't mean LITERALLY all the time... I mean it happens very often. And the sites that it happens with ALWAYS load perfectly once I click on the cancel X in the upper right hand corner of the error box or click on the OK section of the error box. Please understand I am telling you that once I click on one of the two options (X to cancel the message) or (OK to cancel the message) whatever web page I am visiting ALWAYS loads normally - so whatever this problem is, I don't think it's because there is something wrong with the page. IE NEVER does anything like this on the same pages (I should say that it never DID do this, as I have not used IE one single time since I downloaded and installed Firefox... it's great, and I thank you guys for it. It's such a nice thing to be liberated and free from M'soft's IE... I hate it and always have... but being interrupted CONSTANTLY with this message makes browsing and my overall internet experience a pain in the ass when I have to contstantly click one of two things to make the message go away. It would be great if you were able to figure out why it's happening and make a patch available to download so we could make this problem a thing of the past. It MUST be something that could be fixed... it MUST be! Thanks again for such a great browser.. I love Firefox. It's just this ONE problem that pops up constantly & drives me nuts. Take care, Michael Davis Portland, Oregon agnelloretti@comcast.net Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. All I have to do is go to one of the sites that it occurs on, and it will happen. Often I visit a new site and experience it again. Most any site that has done it before will do it again, although I think there may be some sites where it has happened certain times and not others (not completely sure about that.. it may happen EVERY time on each and every site where it's happened before. I haven't tested this extensively. 2. 3. Actual Results: I think I've covered that in the above information. Expected Results: It should have simply displayed the page without making me go through the process of clicking the "X" in the upper right hand corner or clicking "ok" to make it go away and continue loading the rest of the page. There have been a few (pretty rare) pages where it pops up more than once and I have to do it 2 or 3 times before the entire page will load. Ebay is one of those sites. That's it for the info.. I think I've been pretty specific. PS I chose "MINOR" do descrive the severity, but that's because there wasn't any way for me to say "Yes, there's an easy way around it, but it happens rather often and it's a MAJOR PAIN IN THE ASS!" thanks :)

Reporter, did you search Bugzilla for "document contains no data" before filing this bug? This bug should be marked as a duplicate of bug 265654. According to bug 28586 this issue has been resolved as of Deer Park Alpha 2. Reporter, the "document contains no data" error message is caused in old Firefox builds by network problems. Please download a newer version of Mozilla Firefox (e.g. Mozilla Firefox 1.5 beta) and attempt to replicate this problem.
