If I work on a large email on a slow connection, it freezes for ages. Saving the draft should definitely happen in a background thread. Reproducible: Always
Hi Danny, Could it be solution for you to save drafts into local folder? If then, try 'Tools -> Account Settings -> Copies & Folders -> Drafts and Templates'.
Well, I haven't tried that (just activated it) but still it's not really the point. It still needs to be done in the background. M$ Outl$$k does that afiak and I never noticed any glitch while writing a large message. I can imagine several cases where I want the draft to be on the server and not stored locally.
(In reply to comment #2) > Well, I haven't tried that (just activated it) but still it's not really the > point. It still needs to be done in the background. I understand it. The comment #1 was just my suggestion as workaround. :-)
Related to/duplicate of bug 307042?
Guess so but this report suggests it should be done in the background. Just as long as that remains the main remark for this problem then I'd say close this one or mark it as duplicate. Cheers.
Autosave of drafts work fine for me on Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 both locally and remotely (via IMAP). -> WFM. Please feel free to comment if the issue still occurs in the latest 2.0.0.x or trunk nightlies.
