Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 It's a complex situation but very annoying. When you start a long download and than close all the browser windows, the only window that remain opened is "Downloads". Then, if you need to browse the internet and you open FF from the start menu or quick launch bar but no new process is started, right? The same process that is performing the download open a new browser windows. Now, in that new browser window you can open www.google.com (o any page with a textbox to fill-in) and position the cursor in the textbox. Now, when you type, the text is used by firefox to perform a "findas you type" search in the page instead of filling the texbox (that have the focus). If you close the "Downloads" window the the typing became right. Other wrong behaviour occurs. the ctrl+c (Copy) operation in the address bar don't copy the address in the clipboard (idem in the Search textbox) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open FF 2. Start a long download (openoffice for example) 3. Close all the windows except for "Downloads" window 4. Open FF 5. Open the google homepage 6. Start typing in the search textbox Actual Results: the browser try to perform a "find as you type" Expected Results: the typed text should fill the google textbox
