Only the newsgroups that you subscribe to on that particular newsserver is displayed. When looking at the "Copies & Folders" pane under Account Settings it defaults Sent, Drafts and Templates to "Local Folders". I do not use "Local Folders" at all (actually I would like to get rid of it, but that's another issue). Furthermore I would like Thunderbird always to store my drafts and what I send "inside" that account from where I am sending it (that's how I organize my many e-mail accounts). Therefore I would like to request that the four "default" folders where to be added also to newsgroup servers (one set per server - not one per subscribed newsgroup of cause). At the moment I can't think of any reason why other people would not like these folders. But if you have a good reason why they should be optional, then this should of cause be possible. Reproducible: Always

(In reply to comment #0) > When expanding a newsgroup server in the left hand pane in the main Thunderbird > window there are Unsent, Drafts, Sent and Trash folders. Only the newsgroups > that you subscribe to on that particular newsserver is displayed. Sorry... In line two above, I of cause ment that "there are NOT Unsent, Drafts, Sent and Trash folders." /thomas

I am of the opinion that this should be WONTFIX for the following reasons: 1. You can set the sent folder to be any folder, not just the ones with "Sent" names. So you can have Local Folders -> "news sent messages". 2. A newsserver's folders represent newsgroups; breaking this distinction is difficult at best under the current setup. Actually what is really needed is a sort of LATER resolution that used to exist. Confirming since it's an enhancement.
