Details
When running my own Firefox build, from a read-only share (which creates plenty of other fun problems), the Advanced > Update preferences pane incorrectly shows the Firefox item ticked. Since updating is not possible, and the menu item in Help is disabled, it would make a lot more sense to have this box unticked (while still greyed out).

Logic: checked by greyed out implies that the user is *forced* into updating, whether they like it or not, which is not the case (they can't actually update at all).

This is not a duplicate of bug 309183. This one deals with incorrectly enabled preferences. That one deals with a failed update.

The fix for bug 318855 will probably take care of this problem.
